Anger, impulse control, more than the physical symptoms

My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at 64. We see the symptoms of the hand trimmers in the afternoon and he falls from time to time and he has a hard time sleeping and vivid dreams, but my question is he is already showing the signs of lack of impulse control with his anger, yelling getting mad at a drop off a dime, etc., forgetting things or asking a question several times with the impulse control is this going to get worse?

  1. Hi since we are all unique, it would be hard to say but this is a great question for his doctor. There are so many treatment and medication options and hopefully by working with his doctor, you can find one that will help your husband. Please keep us posted. Jill (Team Member)

    1. I completely understand what you’re going through. My uncle was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago, and we saw similar changes — not just the tremors, but also sudden mood swings, frustration over small things, and memory lapses. It was hard for the whole family to adjust at first.

What helped us was keeping a journal of symptoms and sharing it with his neurologist, so they could adjust his treatment. We also looked into additional support programs and even explored medical tourism options for Parkinson’s care. That’s when we learned about PlacidWay, which connects patients to clinics worldwide that offer specialized treatments. It gave us hope knowing there are options beyond the local resources.

It’s a difficult road, but with support, patience, and exploring all possible resources, it can make a difference for both of you.
