"Since January, I have been experiencing severe rib cage pain that feels like I have broken ribs. I have not had any falls or other injuries. In January, I had bronchitis and coughed so hard I assumed that was the reason for the pain. I was put on Prednisone and the pain went away. It has returned several times. My GP hasn't figured out the cause yet. Could this be a PD symptom? The chest xray was negative. Five days on Prednisone relieves the pain. Has anyone else had to deal with rib cage pain? Any ideas as to the cause? I feel like PD is a secret illness. I don't know what is to be expected so I don't know if new symptoms/pains are PD or something else."
"I would like to thank Dan Glass for his article about pain. I'm new at PD and when I ask others about symptoms they tell me "Everyone is different." I was able to identify with some of Dan's symptoms. I had no idea how much pain PD can cause. Like most people, I thought it was a shaking disease. Today the rib cage pain feels like it is bruised. That is an improvement compared to last week when it felt like I had broken ribs."
