My husband had Parkinson's for almost 16 years. In the past 9 month he lost his hearing, sense of smell, taste and his voice. He also lost the ability to stand or walk. After a fall he was hospitalised for 6 weeks and then he came home for palliative care. It was only in the last two years he wanted me to be with him at appointments as I was the one person who knew what was happening to him, he couldn't see it. A few days before the appointment we made a list of what was happening to his body and then if he went alone to his appointment he handed out list over and this helped.
Sadly my husband passed away at home on the 23rd March.
His death certificates dated the cause of death was advanced Parkinson's disease.
