The Next Step

I was diagnosed 2 years ago this September. My life is nothing short of a roller coaster. I am a retired nurse; but I have to tell you, I've learned more about Parkinson's in the last 2 years than I was ever taught in nursing school... which was in the dinosaur age of 1970. Back then, we were drawing up Demerol from glass ampules.

Empathize with each other

I see my neurologist this week. I am ready for the next step, which I expect to be the start of carbidopa/levodopa. I've been reluctant to start because of the stories dealing with timing the dosages. I think it was really denial. I was taking a medication that was designed to slow the progress, but now I welcome something more that could help me. I read stories from other PD patients. We can all empathize with each and every one. Wish me luck and thank you for allowing me to share.
