  1. "Hi all, just over a week my husband had a heart attack! David said that he had pains in his chest but didn't seek help as he thought it was normal just arthritis! The pain going down both his stayed there all night! On the Saturday he was feeling naeusous, then on the Sunday his blood pressure was low and he was sitting with a lean so I called the Paramedics! They came and did an ecg and said that something was going on and think he was having or had, had a heart attack! On the Monday while David was getting stent put in I was sitting in his room in Coronary Care when I had pain in my chest and up into my shoulder! I was waiting for it to go away for awhile and when one of the nurses came into the room I just mentioned it too her! She did an ECG, temp, and blood pressure then took me down to accident and emergency where they did blood tests, another ECG, X-ray etc! They re-tested the blood an hour later and was taken to the coronary ward! Two days later they sent me up to have an angiogram where they found that I had the exact same blockages as my husband and I had to have two stents put in! David's blood levels were down so they gave give him blood transfusions and they think he is bleeding somewhere! David's also had a low iron count! After the first stent was put in he was very confused, trying to climb out the bed along with a few other things like the nurses dancing in his room and he said to them did they mind but it is 10:00pm and he was trying to sleep. our daughter was going between my ward and her dads! when she went in to see her Dad he was trying to climb out of bed! The nurses were trying to get him to stay in bed! Lee-Ann said her Dad what are you doing, you are not to get out of bed! He looked at our daughter and said Flo (which is what she would get when she was little) and told the nurses she was the apple of his eye! David told me that Lee coming into his room saved him as he had been very confused! Then when he had to go and get the second stent put in they found that he needed a total of three stents put in all up! Then the confusion started again! He had them searching for his other pair of glasses which they couldn't find so they rang me to ask about them! I told them that he only had one pair of glasses! David didn't believe anyone there that he had, been and had two more stents in! They rang me again and put David on the phone so he could ask me! I told him that he had, had two more put in! David said to me if I said that he had two more in then he did as he said you wouldn't lie to me! It was like how he was prior to starting Kinson! We both left the hospital on the Friday night! David was unsteady on his feet, finding it hard to stand up! This gradually changed within a few days of being home! David was more able to do things and no longer confused! The staff at the hospital and David himself said that it is so lucky that I don't get the confusion! The social workers have ordered some help around the house! The nursing staff could get over how we both have Parkinson's and both had heart attacks! "

    1. @twinkle - This is such a wild story, and I'm so glad that you are both OK and have some help around the house. What a scary situation that must've been. How are you both today? - Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team

    2. Hi Chris, I had a social worker visit me while I was still in hospital to get some help for us! She has organised for someone to come once a week to do the cleaning and once fortnight to take me shopping! I am not sure at the moment about the shopping one as I have started ordering our groceries on line and our daughter said she can take us when she has her days off! Our son has said if I order click and collect he would pick them up on his way home and drop them into us! But he loses his job on the 28th of this month so he won't be going past then! My hubby wants to start driving again when we are allowed to! I get our scripts delivered to us! I have also been told that I am entitled to support through NDIS and I should have been advised of this last year, but I was told because I am under 65 I wasn't entitled to any help but David was because he is 69! I have to go through My Age Care for David! It has taken a bit to get to accept that we need to have this set -up before things deteriorate as I was told that if we left it to then it would be too late as it takes a while for the paperwork to go through and we could end up in different nursing homes and they advised me that would be expensive! David doesn't like to be dependant on other people! But his episodes with the confusion after these procedures for his stents upset him! I am lucky that the confusion doesn't happen to me at this stage! Our daughter is concerned about her Dad driving and doesn't want him to! We both get very tired and David does what he can then doses off for awhile! When we had a phone call appointment with our GP and we said that David has to have a referral to the Gastroenterology Clinic so they can see where David is heamoraging from, he said that there was nothing about that on what he was sent or saying it was urgent! I rechecked David's discharge paperwork and it has on that he has to see the Gastroenterolgist! I will take it with us when we see our GP in a fortnights time as he has gone away for a few days! Tomorrow I have to ring the Cardiologist to get appointments for us both to see him! Regards Twinkle

  2. "Hi Chris, I saw the Neurologist today, she thinks that the medication be wearing and so the tremors are starting again. She said to move my taking my Siferol ER from the morning to the night time. She wants me to keep a record of when the tremors start if it was before my next dose of medication or not long after! She also thinks that my cervical nerves stenosis may also be causing the numb fingers (my little finger and the one next to it ) when I am knitting or crocheting. She said the loss of sensation on one side of my maybe from the cervical spine or from the ulna nerve. Dr Pepper wants me to have an MRI of the cervical spine and also to go and have a nerve conduction study done and to see her in 6 weeks. Dr Pepper told me what the results of the sleep study found and that was I have severe sleep apnea and once we get that fixed it should stop me from dozing off and spilling coffee over myself. The sleep lab Doctor I see in June!I will update what the find! I was also told the muscle twitches or jerking legs was part of the PD and if David could video it when it is happening! Regards Twinkle (Sandra)"

    1. Thanks for the update! Please keep us in the loop. - Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team

    2. Hi Chris, I will update when I find out more! Regards Twinkle(Sandra)

  3. "Hi "

  4. "Hi, I am problem with my left arm or hand. What is happening is that if I have something in that hand it just lets go of it and drops to the ground! I have mention it to my GP during our phone appointment! He said that he will make a note of it and thinks that my PD specialist may have to look into ...to see if it has something to do with PD or if there is a short circuit in the brain! Has or does anyone else have this problem or know whether it is? I am lucky that when it happened to my mobile I was inside and it landed on the carpet! Regards Twinkle"

    1. Thanks for the update, Twinkle! Glad your phone was OK. Hope you can keep us updated after you speak to your neurologist! Hope you're having a good day. - Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team

    2. Hi

Hi Chris, I got a call back this morning from the Parkinson nurse and she questions about what was happening and she said can
David video it when it happens (but David said that doesn't know how to that) ! The PD nurse sent an email to my neurologist and then rang me back with an appointment for tomorrow at midday but she may be running late! The PD nurse thinks it could be linked to my last medication that was added last year it is called Artane! I will let you know what the Neurologist says tomorrow! - Twinkle (Sandra)
