Biomedical engineering student working on nocturnal akinesia – would love to hear your daily experiences

Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all having as good a day as possible.
My name is Luca Bertola, and I am a Master's student in Biomedical Engineering. For my current academic project, I am focusing on nocturnal akinesia—specifically trying to better understand the real-world physical challenges, frustrations, and daily hurdles that people with Parkinson's (and their caregivers) face during the night and into the early morning hours.
While I’ve been reading through medical literature and clinical guidelines, I know that textbooks often miss the practical, day-to-day reality of what it actually feels like to manage nighttime symptoms.
If you are comfortable sharing, I would love to hear from your personal experience:
What are the most difficult parts of the night or early morning for you? (For example, turning in bed, managing blankets, getting up to use the bathroom, or dealing with nighttime/early-morning medication "Off" periods and tremors?)
What small "hacks," workarounds, or adjustments have you or your caregiver found that actually help? (Or what tools do you wish existed to make nights safer and more comfortable?)
Your insights would mean a lot in helping us understand the real problems that need solving. Thank you so much for your time and willingness to help a student learn!
Best regards,
Luca Bertola
