The Adventures of The NORWICH STREET BRIDGE GANG
Hi Everybody, it's Ernie.
I've been reading some of the posts and it looks like there are a lot of different situations related to PD. The one that caught my attention was the memory loss. My short term memory has become terrible. I think I told you, I wrote a book about growing up in the 1950s. The reason I wrote this book was to battle some of the deterioration of normal things I used to do so well, and now they're not worth a hoot.
Writing a book
I am by no means an author but I wrote the book and helped the designer develop the cover. Then I had a friend proofread the manuscript. Then I helped do the layout and final print. How did the book do? Well, I sold 40 copies or so, then I gave away, oh let me see, another 40 copies. So when I compared this to the best seller list, it was a flop.
However, I assigned some of the gift books to beta readers and the cards and notes I received were more valuable than you can imagine. I realized the book had more value than financial. It encouraged me. I don't feel sorry for myself, rather I enjoy life regardless of the situation. I'm in my 80th year, have had a full life, held many licenses of different types and I'm a renowned Author, Ha Ha. I now market through the use of e-mail or telephone. I do not consider my situation as gloomy, rather I face it as a challenge.
We are in this together
So, dear friends, find ways to make the best of it, and if you lose your cool for no reason, or you can't maintain a short memory, or you have a funny dream, or you may trip over something. Try to laugh it off and move on. We are in this together, fraternally, Ernie.
