What’s wrong with me?

For the longest time I had trouble sleeping and terrible anxiety. Especially in the am. Little by little my husband started noticing my right arm would not swing and right leg would drag when I walked. My handwriting became small and cramped. I only had a small tremor in my right hand when I was at rest.

Confirming Parkinson's

I was going to a psychiatrist, then finally she recommended a neurologist who thought it could be PD and sent me to a movement disorder doctor and confirmed that I did have PD. I started on levodopa and in a few days it started helping. When the medicine off times come around I can feel the change and need to take another dose. Balance and terrible anxiety are my worse symptoms, as soon as I take the levodopa the anxiety calms down. I also take cymbalta but that doesn’t seem to be doing anything anymore.

Keeping busy

This disease has rocked my world, I can no longer work at my health care job due to my symptoms. But I keep busy with yoga, support groups, volunteering at a local library and spending time with friends and family. I’ve learned that this disease is different for everyone. If anyone out there has any of the same symptoms please let me know.
