Recently Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease

It's been approximately a year now that I started noticing tremors in my right hand and arm. Within the last 2 months went to a neurologist who set me up to have a DatScan. After getting the results of the scan and my multiple symptoms (tremors, slowed speech, swallowing issues, lethargic movements my family has noticed, memory issues, etc, etc.) the neurologist diagnosed me with Parkinson's.

I have had great difficulty in writing and typing on my computer at work so the neurologist has started me on Levodopa/Carbidopa medication. Seems to help so I can write and type better. Side effect; upsets my stomach if I don't eat with it; and also nausea.

Staying strong

Set up to see a Movement Disorder specialist in the near future. Really new to all this; so any input from others would be great to hear. Thought my only concern in life was gonna be to care for my now 20 year old disabled son, but now have to worry about my health and well being as well. Overwhelming to say the least!

Hoping to join support groups to get through all this. I consider myself a strong person and will fight to get further answers about Parkinson's and willing to assist those in their research of this Disease.
