What kind of vision problems can Parkinson's cause?

  1. That's a great question, GailMay! Thanks for submitting. We actually have a recent discussion of this topic going on in our forums here: https://parkinsonsdisease.net/topic/cellphone-vision-issues/. A common issue is blurry vision and dry eyes. A neuro-ophthalmologist can help diagnose and treat vision issues related to PD. I hope this helps! - Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team Member

    1. As it turns out I was experiencing chronic dry eye and blurry vision then some floaters. I saw a retina consultant and and was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration which was not caused by PD but runs in my family.. I never would have known that I had it if not for those similar symptoms .You may want to visit our Macular Degeneration.net site or the Chronic DryEye.net site here for a lot of valuable information. 1. I am an eye doctor who happens to have Parkinson’s disease. I recently had to retire because of my PD getting worse but I am active in the community and things as well.
I did not see these symptoms other than dry eye disease in my patients. I have looked at these more and I just did not see much other disease states. I suppose if they are being reported you must be able to get them but I just did not see them in my patients.
