Parkinson Person as Caregiver

My journey with PD started to 2009 with a loss of smell and strength. Started levadopa in 2012..seen by several doctors, was way over medicated now I'm doing OK once I loosen up. My wife had a stroke in 2019, it was not treated and she got worse. Now she is worse off and uses a walker. She has no awareness of her dementia. She cant reason well gets upset, our 54 yrs of good marriage is gone. Biggest problem is she has no doctor for her stroke and dementia. Her primary tells her she is well, it's her crazy caregiver. Neurologist won't see her without referral. As you can see PD is not a concern. Too busy trying to get help for her. I know there are good doctors, if you know of one let me know.
Thanks

  1. Hello my heart goes out to you both. I am so sorry to hear how your wife's physician is handling her care. Is it possible to go to another primary care doctor and potentially get a referral that way? Just a thought. Hopefully others in the community will chime in soon. I hope you can find some time in all this to do a little self-care. Sending comforting hugs to you and your wife. Kindly, Jessica (Team Member)
