New Diagnose

Hello. Three years ago while hanging Christmas lights I noticed my left hand was slightly shaking when using hand tools. I ignored it for two years, three months ago my right hand showed minor symptoms. Diagnosis essential Tremor. When I exhaused all meds for essential tremor, they tested for parkinsons, and I tested positive. At this moment I am reducing the essential Tremor drugs, will start Parkinsons drugs in two weeks. I am at a loss to know what options might be available or next steps. I am 70, retired with a part time job, and do not have the financial resources I think I need. At least the Parkinson drug is cheap. I live in a desert, not a lot options. Saw this site and decided to post the question as to what options are available to me. Thank You.

  1. Hi we are glad you found our site. We understand that a new diagnosis can be overwhelming. I shared two articles with information about resources that may be helpful - https://parkinsonsdisease.net/resources-health. And https://parkinsonsdisease.net/resources-cost. If we can try to help locate any other PD related info or simply provide a listening ear, please don't hesitate to reach out. Welcome to our community! I hope you will find it to be a great support. Wishing you well. -Jessica (Team Member)
