Misdiagnosed

I was misdiagnosed two years ago. Saw a specialist Neurologist who did everything under the sun. She took me off all medication immediately! However I still can not write script, it's a battle to pick up small things and my feet tingle all the time. Going back to see Neurologist soon and will ask her if she has heard of a scan called DaTscan. Will wait and see what she says! My Medical aid is depleted so I have to pay for everything myself

  1. Hi just wanted to check in to see how you have been doing since this post? Have you received an accurate diagnosis yet? I hope so. Wishing you well. -Jessica (Team Member)

    1. I found out yesterday I have been misdiagnosed. I suffer with myoclonus, dystonia, REM sleep disturbance and orthostatic tremor. It turns out I am battling Functional Neurological Disorder, not Parkinson's disease. I have been looking for a full diagnosis for twenty years and now have a path.
I wish you the best on your journey!

      1. 20 years is a long time. I am sure you are finally relieved to have a full diagnosis and a path you can now follow. Please keep us posted with how you are feeling. Jill (Team Member)
