Having DBS done and going to the dentist

My husband had the DBS done and he has to get his teeth cleaned by hand and not using the drill. His neurologist doctor said it might interfere with his Medtronic Stimulator just wondering has anyone else have this same problem.

  1. Hi - How did the appointment end up going? I wanted to share an article that was written by someone with DBS and his experience with going to the dentist: https://parkinsonsdisease.net/living/dentist. Hope this helps provide some insight. - Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team

  2. Hi Chris, Well when he goes to the dentist if he needs to have X-rays done I turn his stimulator off and if he needs his teeth cleaned they do it by hand without any drills or what ever. So the best solution is to have your dentist contact Medtronic and ask them.
