Does anyone have a problem with drooling, swelling lips, & finger tips cracking open?

In the last two years my Parkinson's has progressed to where I drool and my lips swell up & some times crack along with the skin on my fingertips cracking for about a week or two & then with medicine it clears up for about a week or two & then I go thru the same cycle again with the swelling & cracking. Has anyone else had this problem?

  1. I am a newly diagnosed PD patient. I was constantly drooling during work and or at night when I was sleeping. Dry mouth is also common now too. My specialist told me drooling is one of the symptoms of this disease. I am 63 now and unfortunately have no solution to your or my issue. 🙁

    1. The medicine I was using was a prescription Triamcinolone Acetonide cream for my drooling, cracked lips, & cracked finger tips. But it was only a temporary relief. The end of June 2020 I got a really bad case of the shingles on my torso & the Dr prescribed Famciclovir 500mg tablets to be taken 1 tab every 8 hours for a week to reduce the cycle & pain of the shingles. After taken Famciclovir I have not had any more drooling, swollen lips, nor cracked finger tips. I can't say for sure that the Famciclovir corrected my above problems but I can't think of anything else I did different except having shingles to have stopped the weekly drooling, swollen lips, & cracked finger tips for the last two months. Although, I still have the hand tremors & walk with baby steps.
