Can a PD diagnosis stem from a previous injury?

First of all, I am trying to figure out whether or not a previous injury could exaserbate a PD diagnosis. I had an injury in 2005 (comparable to a torn ligament) in my hand. And now, in 2021, I am having noticeable shaking in the same hand. Am I barking up the wrong tree here? Thank you all.

  1. You are best to check with your doctor. Some injuries to the head I.e. athletes can lead to Parkinson’s. Probably not a hand injury. Again, it’s best if you have an evaluation done by a professional medical personnel.
Best wishes and let us know how it goes.

    1. As@ Suzanne Troy suggested, I hope you got a Dr’s opinion. A baseline diagnosis can always be helpful. Please let us know your results. We care about you and are here to be of any assistance we possibly can. Please let us know how you are. Thea DeStephano Community Team Member
