Reading THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS to my 3 children when they were young and now to my 6 grandchildren thanks to technology today—SKYPE and computers I can read to all of them no matter where in the world they may be.Soon after I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Hallmark had come out with books that your voice could be recorded so I gifted each of my children’s families with a copy so my voice will lve on long after I may be able to speak

I purchased the original book when I was pregnant with my 1st child (she was born on Dec 20th) for .49. The book has been a cherished tradition & memory but there were 3 families who wanted ‘THE” book but there was only 1 book and not just any copy was going to do–it had to be the same tall book with Santa wearing a flocked suit on the cover!! I started my search at antique & thrift stores with little luck. Then about 5 yrs ago my oldest daughter was checking something on Ebay when she saw a copy of her book. Well to male the rest of my story shorter I was able to find 4 copies of that cherished book t considerably more than ,49 but oh so worth it.

This is such a great tradition, gbeaty27! It’s so cool that you carried this tradition on to your grandchildren. Technology is definitely amazing in this way. Glad to see your kids are sticklers for tradition 🙂

Thanks so much for sharing this! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season! – Chris, ParkinsonsDisease.net Team Member
