Vertigo

I seemed to have gotten vertigo a few yrs. ago. Was diagnosed with pd in Aug. I am 75. Looking back, my right hand has been shaking for 7 yrs. or so. Does vertigo go with Parkinson?

  1. This is a good question for your neurologist. I hope you have a chance to ask him/her soon. I have not experienced vertigo and hope you find relief. ~Lorraine, parkinsonsdisease.net moderator

    1. Hi @randa, I agree with @Lorraine Wilson that if you haven't already mentioned vertigo to your neurologist, you should. It may be related to Parkinson's or something else but in either case, vertigo makes your chances of falling much higher. I have vertigo as the result of a traumatic brain injury and subsequent stroke. However, Parkinson's disease has worsened it substantially, and my neurologist and I think there is some correlation. There are therapies for dealing with vertigo that I hope you can explore with the advice of your doctor. Thank you for sharing and being part of the community.
