Tremor help

Good afternoon

I am a support person ( the only one) for my 65 year old cousin who resides in a nursing home.

He has Parkinson’s and struggles with hand tremors. Additionally he can transfer from bed to wheelchair but can only take a few steps with a walker. His feet are twisted and contracted.

He gets great basic care at the nursing home but with Covid it has been difficult to spend time with him over the past two years. He has a basic flip phone but finds it difficult to use with tremors. Also has an I pad to listen to music but the tremors also make it difficult.

Do you baby suggestions for additive devices that are available for his challenges?

Thank you so much!

Peg Russell

  1. Hello Peg, You are so kind to help your cousin in anyway you can! Here are some articles written by fellow team members on assistive devices. I hope these give you some sound advice!

Check out the articles to ight

      1. Has your cousin tried to use voice recognition to communicate rather than attempting to text? Siri has an app on my Apple I pad. I don’t know if his phone has that option but it might be worth checking . The Parkinson’s Foundation also has a lot of suggestions online. I admire your desire to make your cousin’s life as productive as possible. Thea DeStephano. Community Team Member
