Scared I have PD

I’m 43 years old and have had twitches mainly in the calf area for 4 months now non stop but they do sporadically go all over my body from time to time - aswell my body vibrates with my pulse again non stop! I have always had low blood pressure but I do a lot of sports including running so am very fit. When I seem to have a drink which is rare my symptoms next day get worse.
I’ve recently had an ECG and my bloods which all come back normal.
Il add to it that my wife got diagnosed with breast cancer at the time when I started twitching and I fell to pieces. Can anyone relate to what I’m going through?

  1. Hello Teddy,
I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing these symptoms. It sounds like you would benefit by asking these questions from a specialist in Parkinson's Disease. Here is a link to guide on how to find one:

It can be difficult to diagnose PD but a specialist is the best place to start.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Teddy. I am sorry that you are experiencing those symptoms with PD. As you may be aware, alcohol consumption may interfere with the effectiveness when taking PD medications. I am saddened to hear about your wife's diagnosis. Experiencing stress when one has PD may hasten your PD symptoms as well. If it was me, I would notify my physicians about how your family's life experience is impacting your PD. Please keep in touch and let me know how you and your wife are doing. I care...Marc M., Moderator, ParkinsonsDisease.Net

      1. Hi Marc I’ve not been diagnosed with PD I was wondering if people had experienced anything like I was?

        1. Hi Teddy,
It can be difficult to diagnose PD so it might take another opinion to find out what you might have going on. I'm sure the stress of your wife being ill doesn't help you. My family has sought the advice of a social worker at my father's neurology office. also, there probably is one available thru your wife's oncology staff. A social worker can help support you and your family as you both have a lot going on with your health. They can give you ideas on how to manage your care and how to get help. Please keep in touch with how you are doing.
Take care, Suzanne Troy, ParkinsonsDisease.net team member
