Red light therapy. Pros and cons?

We are looking at trialing a red-light device and wanted to hear other's thoughts and experiences, please.

  1. It sounds fascinating. How would it actually work? I am sure a great many of ourteam members would find this of interest. Good luck with your research,

    1. Thank you, Thea.
Red light therapy has been shown in clinical studies to have a wide variety of therapeutic effects on the human body. The treatment is administered to bare skin via powerful light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs.

Light photons are absorbed into the skin and underlying tissue where they interact with mitochondria. For people suffering from Parkinson’s disease, red light therapy has potential to regenerate nerves, protect nerves from further damage, reduce inflammation, and stimulate healthy cell activity. These regenerative changes are shown to help with Parkinson's symptoms.
Lots of research to do but seems promising!

      1. Please keep us updated as you continue to research this possible treatment. Any information would be appreciated as we all seek answers for treatments I assume clinical trials will follow and it can be a long process. Once again good luck in your pursuit and thanks for the clear explanation. Thea DeStephano Community Team Member
