Psychosis in Parkinson

My father 68 years old detected pdd 6 years back. Recently he shows symptomps like psychosis. He couldnot recognize his room and says its another place and chontinuously asking to take him to his own house while he already lying on his own bed..Suggest why such behavioral change

  1. Hello, I'm sorry to hear that your father is experiencing these behavioral symptoms. There may be a number of reasons why he is going thru this- medication dosage or other reasons. Some of these psychosis symptoms can also be common with Parkinson's Disease. My father has experienced some of this. Often this has been when he has had a urinary tract infection. It is best if you contact your father's physician to have your father evaluated. Here are some articles that may give you some insight on the topic:

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with. Let us know how you father is doing. Blessings to you, Suzanne Troy, ParkinsonsDisease.net team member

    1. I agree with Suzanne, Chakraborty. Hallucinations and delirium may be advanced symptoms of PD as well as Lewy Body Dementia. You may have done so already,, but have you spoken with his movement disorder neurologist or psychologist about his new symptoms? Regards, Marc M., Moderator, parkinsonsdisease.net
