Has anyone read about nerve stimulating foot and nail care?

I read some time ago about cleaning your feet, legs and toe nails and stimulate your nerve endings at the same time. My toe nails started to look fungus looking. So I purchased a surgical brush. I started washing my feet, lower legs, and nails more vigorously than normally. Big improvements plus after a month I have sensation in my feet and legs that I never had before. Looking for research article that I had read. Anyone read a similar article?

  1. I can state that massage works wonders, but I haven't read up on this. Thanks for sharing!

    1. I was encouraged by my movement disorder specialist to massage my legs and feet as they sometimes go numb at night.I use a hand held massager available at Amazon and as said massage works wonders! Also using a moisturizer in between seems to lessen that tingling I sometimes feel. I tried researching for the article you mentioned but did not find a specific article. You may want to look into peripheral neuropathy for guidance and discuss this with your doctor. Thea DeStephano Community Team Member

      1. I now have a heating pad that also massages, but I lay on my stomach instead of on my back to do that. Overall I think it works pretty good, but I don't think it replaces the real human thing. I think a lot of the portable devices have come a long way. in the end, I think it's just a matter of trial and error to find one that works for you. I never heard about the nail care, but I have heard of the feet ones. Good luck in finding something that works for you.
