Medication after12 years without

My sister is a practicing Christian Scientist and hasn’t taken any medication for her Parkinson’s. She is nearly immobile now. If she takes medication now, can the severe symptoms of Parkinson’s be reduced or do they become permanent ?

  1. Thank you for your question, LLeo. It must be very sad to see your sister's current decline to her current level. If your sister hasn't already done so, since I am not a doctor, it would be advisable in my opinion, to speak with a Movement Disorder Neurologist regarding her treatment regimen and treatment. Please let me know how she is doing. Best, Marc M., Moderator, ParkinsonsDisease.Net
