Never thought this could be me

I am not sure I belong to this group. I have a couple of symptoms. When I told the doctor that I had trouble writing, he gave me a quick neurological exam. He said I had tremors in both hands and fingers. He mentioned the possibility of PD.

He said that it could be from Gabapentin which I take for neuropathy. I really need the Gabapentin but he said I might have to stop taking it as it can cause tremors and micrographia.

I lose either way. Either I have this or I don't have it but won't be able to get any help for the neuropathy.

I know a lot of people have it worse. Whatever each of us is facing or dealing with, I think we can help one another with encouragement and inspiration.

Hello - I read your story and wondered if you're seeing a neurologist who specializes in Movement Disorders? The abbreviation you'll see online for neurologists who have specialized in movement disorders is MDS for "Movement Disorder Specialist." I am not trying to convince you to change neurologists! But if your doctor is not an MDS, maybe you could ask him to refer you to an MDS for a second opinion. Or, you can find MDS in your area at a site run by the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
