Posterior Vitreous Detachment

Does anyone have any info and/or experience on the long-term prognosis for this disorder? Needless to say, it is a huge inconvenience and quite demoralizing considering all of the other symptoms I already have to deal with. Thanks in advance for any help or info. Ken6

  1. If the condition becomes too serious Columbia ophthalmologists can perform a vitrectomy to replace the vitreous according to the National Eye Institute.I would certainly suggest you consult your ophthalmologist for advice .

    1. Thea...thanks for the advice. The research I have done on this so far indicates that these surgeries are still risky and expensive. Supposedly, a large percentage of people over 65 have this problem and it usually, does not get worse and may improve. time will tell. Ken
