PEG

My brother who has had pd in the mouth of for nearly 14 years and has 4 weeks ago had the peg procedure and is now using this new system. He still has good days and bad days. My question is will this settle down in time. Would like to hear from anyone who has had the procedure and what the longer term hails for him. He is 83 years old and in general good health.

  1. , Thank wyou for reaching out to us regarding the PEG procedure. PEG makes it easier to feed a PwP, by putting a tube into the stomach for nutrition. You may have done so already, but has your brother made an appointment with a Speech Pathologist [SLP] who is experienced in Parkinson's Dysphagia therapy for treatment? The SLP treats Parkinson's patients who are having swallowing issues. Best, Marc M., Moderator, parkinsonsdisease.net

    1. No not as yet. Tremors keep happening on odd days.
