Painful legs

My upper legs, thighs to knees, ache like a toothache at times.
To date my work up has been negative.
Some days I can walk for miles. Other days they’re heavy, like lead

  1. Hello I am sorry to hear that you experience such aches in your legs. You mentioned to date the work up has been negative, so I am assuming you have not been diagnosed with Parkinson's? I took the liberty to share some information on diagnosing PD and commonly associated symptoms here - https://parkinsonsdisease.net/diagnosis-treatment. And https://parkinsonsdisease.net/symptoms. Additionally, I shared an article on finding a movement specialist -https://parkinsonsdisease.net/answers/find-a-movement-disorder-specialist. I hope you and your medical team can get to the root cause of your symptoms and help you find some relief. Hugs, Jessica, Team Member

    1. Thank you very much!
I appreciate your help. Fortunately I am not far from Albany Medical Center.

      1. I’ve been told by my neurologist that my symtoms present Parkinson’s. My arms don’t swing, I’ve tremors for a year and a half thought at first to be essential tremors initially. But the last 6 months my hamstrings feel cramped, I have balance problems and I can only walk half a block before my legs just don’t seem to work. I can’t stand on my legs for longer than 7 minutes without having to sit down. The hamstring pain becomes just soreness with ibuprofen and that’s an improvement. I have been put on levodopa 100 mg twice a day and I notice an improvement in walking without sourness/pain and with balance. I’m encouraged. Getting MRI and Dscan soon and therapy. I understand the ache like a toothache problem. I wish you the best outcome. Bruceski

        1. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I’m hoping for a referral to a Movement Disorders specialist even wondering if a trial of Levodopa might be diagnostic/ therapeutic.
At times my pelvis to knees ache at 7-9/10 … hoping for an explanation!
