But you know what?

It all started with our mobility scooter. I approached my doctor, at the time, for a prescription for one, in order to get some type of coverage, IE Medicare, etc. So the doc suggested I either see a psychiatrist or a neurologist to, I assume, establish a basis for needing one(?). So I opted to see a neurologist, who sent me for 2 MRIS (head and spine). So as that particular dr was just about useless....a year later I went to another neurologist who sent me for 5 MRIs, and wanted me to go to an MS clinic to rule out MS, per information on those tests. So, instead of travelling to that hospital, (a fair distance from me), I opted to see a neurologist at our local hospital. He didn't test me, or send me for MRIs or anything. He just didn't think I had whatever it was I told him I thought I may have had. But no testing. So, onto number 4, who sent me for a carotid artery ultrasound. This neurologist saw nothing that, in their opinion, warrented any attention. And so, here I am. Since 2022, having seen 4 neurologists, and no clear diagnosis of anything. I asked them, "well, in all fairness, do you think I am just getting older?" And none of them would say 'yes, that's all it is. So.....on my own behalf, considering that I have balance issues and ocassional mild tremor in my left hand, primarily, I am thinking I might be dealing with Parkinson's Disease. Considering no one else will say it out loud. 😀

  1. Sorry to hear you having such a challenging time obtaining an accurate diagnosis. Hopefully your medical team will get to the root cause of your symptoms soon and help create a proper health care plan. In the meantime, I did share some information on PD diagnosis and symptoms - https://parkinsonsdisease.net/diagnosis-treatment. And https://parkinsonsdisease.net/symptoms. Wishing you well. -Jessica (Team Member)

    1. Here again. And on and off I think about what may be going on. There are more than a few things that ARE going on. But if I had to make a guess???? PD.

  2. First of all, thank you for responding, much appreciated. And honestly, I have no medical team, or even a primary care dr, for that matter. I have a nurse practioner, who in all honesty, cares more than any doctor ever has. But you need more than that. And again, I'm very tired. You'd figure that people who went to school for neurology would have been more help.
